What tax preparation software works with ATOM?

ATOM customers use all of the leading tax preparation software, and have successfully co-joined ATOM with Drake, Taxwise, Pro-Series, ATX, Crosslink and several other leading brands.


Does ATOM provide responsive customer support?

Your ATOM purchase includes a 360-page on-line manual and an on-line video library that details all functions. If these resources don't answer your questions, specialized ATOM training is available, either in person or by phone. We are always available to assist you and help you fully utilize all of ATOM's cost and time saving functions.


How does ATOM more efficiently run multiple office locations?

That's part of the beauty of ATOM. ATOM is a web application - not software that is installed on your machine. ATOM users can log in from any location, but all records are securely stored in a centralized database on the web.


Can I import my existing client records into ATOM?

Yes, this is a very simple process as long as you can export your client data into an excel spreadsheet or a .CSV file. The ATOM support team will assist you with this process.


What does full integration with my tax software mean?

Data sharing. To prevent data duplication, ATOM shares the client data that you have already entered into your tax preparation software. ATOM pulls data such as client name, mailing address, phone numbers, e-file information, and RAL bank information directly from your tax software. By integrating ATOM with your tax software program, all your client data will be centralized, rather than spread across multiple software applications.


How do I prevent my employees from punching-in or logging-in from home?

ATOM comes equipped with a report that identifies the location from which users log in or punch in. With this report you can easily identify if your employees log-in outside your office. Also, you have the ability to completely restrict access to ATOM based on IP addresses. This will allow you to choose which employees you’d like to give access to outside the office.


How does ATOM's automated Refer A Friend feature better manage my business?

ATOM comes equipped with an automated Refer A Friend program that tracks the referred and referring customer. ATOM automatically generates thank you letters and mailing labels once you have been paid by both parties. By automating this process you can send referral rewards out continuously throughout tax season rather than waiting until year end.


What are the minimum system requirements for my computer to run ATOM?

Internet access, Internet Explorer 9.0 or higher, and at least 960 MB of memory.


Do I have to add any additional software to my server?

No, all software is stored on ATOM’s servers located at a secured data center.


What kind of scanner do you recommend?

Any scanner will work with ATOM but we e recommend a quality, high-speed, duplex scanner such as the Fujitsu ScanSnap. Unlike most document management software, ATOM DOES NOT require a TWAIN compliant scanner


What if I stop using ATOM, what happens to my client data?

We can either permanently delete all your client files or we can export them to your office server in a format of your choice (i.e. SQL Express, MS Access, MS Excel or as a CSV file).


How do I know my client data is safe and secure with ATOM?

All communications between your computers and our servers are secured with 256-bit Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption.  We use Geo Trust SSL Certificate the most secure option for SSL with the highest authentication and the strongest encryption.

We host our servers on a Private Cloud at Liquid Web, a SSAE-16 Type audited secure data center located in Lansing, MI.  Your data is also backed up nightly offsite to a second data center, owned and operated by Liquid Web. 


For my annual renewal fee how much storage space am I allocated?

For the $595 annual renewal fee you are allocated 10 Gigabytes of storage. Additional storage, if needed, can be purchased at a cost of $100/10 Gigabytes.


What is the largest file size I can upload?

Because ATOM is more than just document storage service, the largest file size is limited to 10 Megabytes.


Can I run ATOM software on my Smart Phone?

Yes, as long as your phone has internet access you can quickly and easily use all the features of ATOM Software on your smart phone.
